support

The sheltered house provides accommodation and a main meal each day. There is a resident housekeeper who prepares the meal and is responsible for the house. A committee of volunteers - who visit regularly - monitor the welfare of residents. Allandale is an imposing house, refurbished to a high standard in 2006. Residents are encouraged to lead independent lives, to come and go as they please, and receive visits from family and friends.

The residential houses provide accommodation, all meals and a measure of personal care. Both houses are registered with the Care Quality Commission and maintain high standards which are monitored by regular, independent inspections by the Commission. Reports of inspections can be found on the Commission’s website — http://www.csci.org.uk

In all cases we must ensure that we can meet your needs. In sheltered houses we do not provide personal care. In residential houses we are able to do so. We also now have some facility for respite care at Heathermount. We have a selection procedure intended to provide a measure of confidence that we are right for one another.
